China's GD Power Development Co's venture with Hebei Construction & Investment Group Co has won the right to explore a 3.3 billion yuan coal exploration in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the company said in a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The area is estimated to cover 2.8 billion tons of coal reserves, of which 1.64 billion tons are recoverable, the company said.
