1. Agriculture

Nanyang will construct medium and large scale water conservancy facilities; develop water-efficient irrigation projects; build a system of green industries, stock breeding and comprehensive support; set up export bases for high-quality livestock products; create an intensive and efficient aquaculture system; process and utilize subsidiary agricultural products; and establish a market system for agricultural products and experimental and demonstration bases of agricultural high and new-technology.

2、Electric power

Nanyang will develop fossil-fueled power, hydroelectric power and thermal power by giving full play to its own geographical advantage — abundance in water and location near mines, power grids and railways.

3. Electromechanical industry

In the electromechanical industry,priority is given to: electronic products, mainly including filters for communication equipment, semiconductor chips and security chips for business information; electrotechnical products, mainly including explosion-proof electric machine and zinc oxide arrestors; automobile parts, mainly including shock absorbers and water pumpers; and complete equipment, mainly including medium and large complete equipment for milling and gasification of biological straw.

4. Chemical industry

Nanyang will focus on developing the alcohol-chemical industry, photosensitive materials, the oil and alkali chemical industry, the agricultural chemical industry and daily-use fine chemical products.

5. Pharmaceutical industry

Nanyang will vigorously develop new antibiotics, Chinese patent medicines and bio-tech drugs. It will produce alternatives to imported medicine by applying biotechnology and advanced technology at home and abroad.

6. Textile industry

In the textile industry, priority is given to the development of garment materials, interior textiles, soft dyed fabrics, high-grade blended fabrics, combed yarn, fine yarn, high-count and high-density fabrics.

7. Metallurgical and building material industry

Nanyang focuses on developing high-grade cement, refractory materials, new wall materials and top-grade daily-use ceramics.

8. Light industry

Nanyang will improve centralized pulping in the paper-making industry; develop high-grade cultural paper and well-known quality food; and increase the productivity and quality of agricultural films, engineering plastics, plastic products for daily use and leatherware.

9. Transportation

In transportation, guided by the principle that "he who invests should be in charge of management and benefit from his investment," Nanyang will attract investment at home and abroad to vigorously develop expressway systems.

10. Urban infrastructure

Nanyang will accelerate the construction of urban roads and facilities for water supply, heating supply, gas supply and sewage disposal. It will carry out the transformation of old towns and the development of land.

11. Tourism industry

Nanyang will focus on developing and building the Funiu Mountain Eco-Tourism Resort, Tongbai Huaiyuan Scenic Spot, Danjiangkou Reservoir Scenic Spot and Yahekou Reservoir Scenic Spot.
