Zhongping Energy Chemical Group will create a low-carbon industrial chain focused on two of its major industries: coal tar and nylon.
The low-carbon industrial chain will be the first to focus on coal tyre and nylon, and is expected to reap benefits worth 400 million yuan after it is put into operation, Ma Yuan, vice president of Zhongping, said at the International Coal Development Forum on Oct 27. Zhongping is based in Pingdingshan in Henan province.
Zhongping recently invested more than 2 billion yuan in a partnership with Australia Coal Tar Fuel Co in Australia. The partnership will augment Zhongping’s coal tar base, where production has reached 160 million tons.
Zhongping also has built a world-class nylon base, and was named a model for recycling in 2006. By the end of 2009, it had invested more than 3 billion yuan to produce 2 billion tons of Nylon 66 salt.
