On May 8, 2011, China Pingmei Shenma Group, a huge coal group in Pingdingshan, held a conference to grant awards for advances in science, technology and innovation in management.
At this conference, all the awards worthed 14 million yuan, the highest cash reward in the history of the Group. The Group issued one special award of RMB 500,000, five first-prize awards of RMB 200,000, 263 scientific and technological progress awards, 39 modern enterprise management achievement awards, 91 social science awards, and 35 intellectual property awards.
China Pingmei Shenma Group aims to forge itself into an international coal and mining corporation with a good reputation and strong competitive qualities, and stresses sharpening scientific innovation to ensure safety, quality and efficiency.
The Group founded the first high standard research institute of energy and chemical industry in the whole province, and the coal industry based on two state-level technical centers and two postdoctoral research center. They charge whopping fees, say 3.1 billion yuan, largely on recruiting elites and overcoming a series of technical difficulties.
In 2010, China Pingmei Shenma Group Won 134 state and provincial progress awards. 50 advanced collectives and individuals were honored in this Group. In this way, the sales revenue in 2010 exceeded 100 billion yuan.
