In response to the nation's call for energy conservation and emissions reduction, Ruzhou plans to invest 8 million yuan ($128.69 million) to build two wastewater treatment plants.
In recent years, with the growing pace of Ruzhou's urbanization, the old treatment plant cannot handle the increased sewage disposal.
It plans to build two plants, one that can process 600 tons of wastewater daily and another that can process 800 tons of wastewater daily.
The project will finish this June. By then, it will realize annual COD reduction of 146 tons and ammonia nitrogen reduction of 15 tons.
