Lv Zhanhong, a member of the Ruzhou municipal government's leading Party group, headed a team during a visit on Jan 17 to inspect the city's preparations for the 40-day Spring Festival travel season.
The officials visited the city's long-distance bus station, train station and central bus station, and Lv was especially interested in the equipment aimed at detecting inflammable substances, explosives - and other prohibited articles.
The Ruzhou transportation authorities told the visitors about their measures to cope with the masses of travelers, including handling crowds of passengers entering and exiting the premises and emergency measures in case of adverse weather conditions.
At the end of the inspection, Lv praised the organization of the travel season and also urged the transportation officials to continue their efforts to anticipate any issues, so as to ensure the safety of passengers.
