The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development released the first pilot list of 90 "Smart Cities" on Jan 29, which includes Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu province.
The cities will be rated into three different levels by related departments and organizations after 3 to 5 years of construction.
"Smart Cities" embody a new form of informative cities forged under the support of new generation information technologies such as the Internet of Things and cloud computing.
