During the upcoming National Day holiday, Zhouzhuang will present a series of activities to help visitors fully appreciate Zhouzhuang’s beauty.

Folk custom performances

Pebbled streets, narrow lanes, arched stone bridges and small boats reflect the outer beauty of Zhouzhuang. Folk customs, on the other hand, reflect Zhouzhuang’s inner beauty. The folk custom performances are based on cultural activities. Performances will be held at Quanfunan Road, the weird tower, the twin bridge s and Nanhu Dock.

Ancient zheng (a Chinese instrument) performance at Zhangting Tea House

Zhangting Tea House is a rare building from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) in Zhouzhuang. It will hold ancient zheng performances during the National Day holiday.

Time: Every day during the National Day holiday from 9:00am-3:30pm

Kunqu opera performances on an ancient stage

Classical Kunqu operas, such as Peony Pavilion and Three Gates, will be performed at the ancient stage in Zhouzhuang, giving visitors a chance to appreciate the charm of Kunqu opera.

Taste tea in Zhouzhuang

Residents in Zhouzhuang have a long history of drinking tea and follow many tea customs. This National Day holiday, visitors coming to Zhouzhuang can not only appreciate performances from Zhouzhuang’s residents but can also enjoy Chinese tea culture.

Zhouzhuang in Four Seasons is the first live-action show to present the lifestyle of people south of the Yangtze River. It has become an important window to display the traditional culture of the water town to the world.
