The Flowers of War is set in Nanjing, the capital of China’s Jiangsu province. The period dance drama takes place during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-1945). It features selflessness of 13 dancing girls from the underclass. They sacrificed their lives to help others in turbulent times.
