Wuxi's four landscaped scenic spots saw a blowout of tourists on a sunny April 4, the last day of the three-day Tomb-Sweeping Day holiday, after days of rain, according to the Wuxi Daily.

Nowadays, flowers are not the only signs of life that come with the spring thaw. Warmer weather has brought blossoming tourism to Wuxi as well. It's popular among local residents and people from neighboring cities to admire the beauty of flowers in Wuxi.

"April 4 saw many self-drive travellers from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai," said a director of the scenic spot, adding that the Turtle Head Isle received some 110,000 visitors during the holiday, an increase of 20 percent over the same period in 2015.

Cars with Anhui, Shandong, Beijing and Northeast China license plates were also spotted in the parking lots of the Turtle Head Isle.

Though some cherry trees' petals fell after the rain, visitors will be able to enjoy other cherry varieties in full bloom till April 20.

Azaleas in the Xihui Park, tulips in the Plum Garden and peach blossoms in the Liyuan Garden were unaffected by the wet weather. More than 70,000 people visited the Xihui Park and more than 30,000 people visited the Plum Garden during the three-day holiday.

The azaleas will bloom from mid-April to the end of May and the flower season of tulips and peach blossoms will last one month, staff of the scenic spots told reporters.
