Jilin strives to boost revitalization

The Jilin government held a mobilization video conference on Feb 25 to kick off a new round of revitalization development across the province.
Bayanqolu, Jilin Party secretary, pointed out that Jilin has made great strides since the country's implementation of reform and opening-up, especially with the central government's strategy to revitalize Northeast China. However, Jilin still faces a series of new situations, problems and challenges before it can reverse its obsolete fundamental conditions. Bayanqolu urged all parties to look further afield to plan and boost a new round of revitalization work.
He stressed that Jilin should give priority to comprehensive revitalization work, which is indispensable to the realization of a well-off society. He asked everyone to focus on projects, innovation, opening-up, ecology and people's livelihood when pushing for comprehensive revitalization of Jilin.
Bayanqolu said that comprehensive and in-depth reform is the driving force behind the revitalization. All parties should focus on important and difficult reform tasks, upgrade marketization, better deal with the government-market relationship, and improve the quality of reform.
Leadership was asked to take the lead to create a legal environment and realize law-based administration, which will support comprehensive revitalization.
Bayanqolu called upon all parties to address the inertia of some officials; carry out practical work; and give incentives to official work creativity, initiatives and enthusiasm.
He also stressed that efforts should be made to improve the responsibility system, establish a healthy and clean work environment, and give guidance on talent employment and public opinions. He hoped that positive energy could be garnered through effective publicity and guidance. Confidence, consensus and morale of relevant personnel should also be strengthened.
Jiang Chaoliang, governor of Jilin, hosted the meeting and delivered a speech.
He pointed out that all personnel should reach a consensus and follow the government's decision and deployment. They should focus on project settlement, production efficiency and investment promotion; speed up construction of various platforms and projects; pay attention to regional and industrial layout; conduct innovations in thinking, working methods and service to attract investment; open up the market; improve the soft environment; take care of domestic and external development; trade for resources, capital and market; push for centralized investment promotion; strengthen industrial planning and guidance; boost development of industrial clusters; improve investment promotion facilities; make good use of various development zones; optimize Internet and financial connections; strictly implement law-based administration; stabilize and increase food production; carry out agricultural modernization; contain major accidents; and ensure safe development.
The meeting chose the main venue in Changchun, with branch meetings taking place in the Changbai Mountain development zone, and various counties, cities and districts in Jilin. More than 7,300 officials attended the meeting, including members and the deputy director of the standing committee; vice-governor, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the CPPCC Jilin Committee; and president of the superior people's court.
