Hairun Garden broke ground as part of the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition on Feb 26 in Qingdao. The expo has confirmed 97 exhibitors and has begun construction of 26 exhibition sections.

The expo, located in Baiguo Mountain Forest Park, Qingdao, Shandong province, will last 184 days from April 25 to Oct 25 in 2014.

The expo site will include a Chinese Garden, International Garden and Enterprise Garden along with 100 exhibition sections. The International Garden will have 34 exhibitors from international organizations and 32 countries from across five continents. The Chinese Garden will have exhibitors from all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The Enterprise Garden will exhibit advanced low-carbon technologies.
