CSR Sifang Co secured a contract to manufacture 108 rail trains through the first public bidding launched by China Railway Corporation, Qingdaonews.com reported.

The bid marks the largest of its kind since the 2011 Wenzhou Railway collision, with tenders being invited to manufacture 159 high-speed trains in total. CSR Sifang Co has secured 68 percent of the share, a convincing demonstration of its competence. The contract includes 91 trains capable of service speeds of 250 kilometers per hour, 22 trains of 350 kilometers per hour and 17 trains designed for non-frigid zones.

As CSR Sifang becomes the biggest domestic manufacturer of railway equipment, it will continue to serve as a flagship and further contribute to boosting the development of Qingdao's municipal traffic equipment.
