The International Ocean Engineering Forum was held in Huangdao New District in Qingdao, a coastal city in East China, on July 18.

Experts from home and abroad discussed the current status, trends and challenges in ocean engineering and put forward comments and suggestions on the development of the ocean engineering equipment manufacturing industry in Huangdao.

With the theme of “Developing ocean engineering equipment to promote marine economy”, the forum focused on three topics: marine oil and gas equipment, marine shipping equipment and marine engineering equipment.

Gu Xinyi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave a speech on the development and trends in offshore drilling and production technology. Xu Lixin, honorary president of the International Association of Ocean Engineers, also gave his opinion about international key technology in marine engineering.

Huangdao New District will take the opportunity of the forum to contribute to the development of the Blue Economic Zone in Shandong Peninsula, and explore a scientific development of the national marine economy.
