The sixth Qingdao International Sailing Week and Qingdao International Marine Festival will be held in Qingdao, Shandong province, from Aug 16 to 23.

The logo for Qingdao International Sailing Week and Marine Festival was issued on July 23.

The event consists of two parts, Olympic sailing culture exchange and international sailing events, said Liu Yu, director of the Qingdao Administration Center of Sailing Sport.

There are five activities in the Olympic sailing culture exchange, including a sailboat show, communication with sailing sports figures, sailing culture exchanges between China and the Republic of Korea (ROK), dialogue with yacht club and hip-hop challenge contests.

Established in 2009, Qingdao International Sailing Events was approved by the General Administration of Sports of China, and has gained international influence.

The Qingdao International Sailing Week and Qingdao International Marine Festival will help boost the Blue Economic Zone in Shandong Peninsula.
