The 2015-2017 Extreme Sailing Series was held in the coastal city of Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, as the third venue of the important sailing event, from April 30 to May 3, qingdaonews.com reported on May 3.

The title eventually went to the Danish team, which grabbed a decisive victory with 178 points in total.

Founded in 2007, the Extreme Sailing Series is considered as one of the top international sailing events, along with Volvo Ocean Race, America's Cup, PWA (Professional Windsurfers Association) World Cup and World Match Racing Tour.

The coastal city will also embrace the '2015 Qingdao International Sailing Week and Qingdao International Marine Festival' and the ISAF (International Sailing Federation) Sailing World Cup in August and September this year respectively.
