Jiading district's economy grew steadily in 2012. The total economic added-value of Jiading district in Shanghai was 129.27 billion yuan ($21.1 billion), a comparable growth of 9.1 percent year-on-year.

Jiading's territorial management areas realized economical added-value of 96.97 billion yuan, a comparable growth of 6.7 percent year-on-year. The added-value of the primary industry was 460 million yuan, a decrease of 3.2 percent; the secondary industry was 60.12 billion yuan, a comparable growth of 5 percent year-on-year and accounting for 47.6 percent of Jiading's economic growth. Its tertiary industry contributed 36.39 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 10 percent, accounting for 53 percent of Jiading's economic growth.

Jiading has further improved development in the modern service industry. Jiading has attracted a number of top enterprise headquarters by perfecting its planning layout and completing its supporting infrastructure in addition to promoting construction of the business service park for enterprise headquarters.

Jiading also plans to develop its headquarter economy, cultural creativity sector, financial services and information sector to form industry clusters. Jiading has realized 71.36 billion yuan in the cultural information industry in 2012, an increase of 29.7 percent year-on-year. It approved registration of 551 enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 49.3 percent.

The total registered capital of the newly-established enterprises is 4.15 billion yuan, an increase of 159.4 percent year-on-year. Jiading's industry structure adjustment was carried out smoothly last year. The proportion of added-value of its tertiary industry increased 1.7 percent year-on-year.

Jiading has successfully met its fiscal revenue target in 2012. Its general fiscal revenue last year was 57.34 billion yuan, an increase of 12 percent year-on-year. The annual fiscal revenue of Jiading's territorial management areas last year was 40.01 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4 percent year-on-year. Jiading's local fiscal revenue last year was 12.16 billion yuan, an increase of 13.6 percent year-on-year, which was the highest among Shanghai's eight suburban counties.

Jiading's general tax revenue last year was 55.01 billion yuan, an increase of 12 percent year-on-year. Annual tax revenue of Jiading's territorial management areas last year was 37.67 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2 percent year-on-year. Among the tax revenue of Jiading's territorial management areas, corporate income tax revenue was 9.94 billion yuan, an increase of 5.6 percent year-on-year; business tax revenue was 3.91 billion yuan, a decrease of 25.5 percent year-on-year; and personal income tax revenue was 3.21 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4 percent year-on-year.

Jiading's annual local fiscal expenditure was 15.27 billion yuan, an increase of 11.2 percent year-on-year. Its expenditure for social security and employment reached 1.49 billion, an increase of 9.8 percent year-on-year. Expenditures for science, education, culture and health was 3.82 billion yuan, an increase of 32.6 percent year-on-year. Expenditures for the industry, commerce and financial sector were 19.1 billion yuan, an increase of 60.9 percent year-on-year.
