Jiading, a district located in the southwest of Shanghai municipality, is an important link between Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta economic area. It has a long history and rich culture, and it is also a modern district, with science and research institutions and towns and an international automobile town with a complete mobile industrial chain.
Jiading is striving to build itself into a "comprehensive hub district along the Yangtze River Delta" during the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), by promoting its economic transformation, and its development as a harmonious society.
