Swedish bearing producer and supplier SKF began operation of its Jiading Campus on June 9.
The SKF Jiading Campus, located in the Auto Parts Industrial Park of Anting town, covers an area of 45,000 square meters. Its total investment reaches 700 million yuan ($112.1 million).
Integrating resources in R&D, production, testing and training, the SKF Jiading Campus includes the SKF Global Technology Center, the automobile wheel hub bearing factory, the solution factory and SKF College. With the operation of SKF Jiading Campus, all these advanced resources are fully brought together for a higher added value of products.
Zhu Jiming, president of SKF China, says the operation of SKF Jiading Campus is a further move of knowledge engineering by SKF in China’s market. Facing the increasingly competitive market, SKF China is now trying to change from a product seller to a high-value-solution provider, which can consolidate SKF’s leading role in China’s market.
