An e-commerce-themed forum was recently held in Nanxiang town, Jiading district of Shanghai, local media reported on July 4.
The forum was a joint effort by the Nanxiang government and Shanghai Jiao Tong University .
Zhang Jun, deputy head of Nanxiang town, attended together with more than 200 business representatives.
E-commerce, a key industry for many regions, is playing an increasingly important role in promoting upgrading of traditional industries and innovation for regional economies.
The forum focused on the development model of Nanxiang's e-commerce industry and new approaches for e-commerce industrial parks to help traditional businesses expand.
In addition, an e-commerce training base, launched by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was inaugurated at the forum and a speech on traditional company transformation in the Internet era was delivered by a guest professor from the university.
