Area will promote smart technology and sustainability among other trends

The third China International Import Expo, to be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in November, will boost automotive industrial innovation and strengthen communication among businesses, researchers and policy makers.

With a planned exhibition space of 30,000 square meters, the automobiles exhibition area will display the latest auto products and services including vehicles, parts, electronics, supporting products and maintenance supplies, new energy products and technologies, as well as smart transportation-related products and technologies.

According to the CIIE Bureau, more than 90 percent of the planned space of automobiles exhibition area will be occupied by Fortune 500 automotive companies and leading players in the industry. Almost all of the world's top automakers, parts suppliers and relevant service providers will show up at the third edition of CIIE to demonstrate their latest developments.

This year, the automobiles exhibition area at the third CIIE will introduce a brand-new subsection dedicated to smart transportation with planned exhibition area of 3,000 sq m. The subsection is set to reflect trends in the automotive industry of going smart, being internet-connected, low carbon, car-sharing and the changes brought by this.

The subsection will amaze visitors with the most advanced technologies in fields such as autonomous driving, intelligent connectivity, smart cockpits, vehicle-road collaboration, control systems and sensor development. There will be many industrial "hidden champions", a term to describe enterprises that dominate a narrow business segment but are largely unknown to the general market, to display their latest products and exchange ideas in the smart transportation sector with event participants, according to the CIIE Bureau.

This year, a great number of influential automotive experts and businesses will meet up at the CIIE to share their new findings on relevant fields, to make the expo not only a platform for international procurement and investment promotion, but also a vital setting for cooperation and exchange of ideas, the CIIE Bureau said.
