According to a comprehensive construction plan of Hongqiao International Hub approved by the State Council, Jiading district is located in the core area of the hub, as well as an important link point in its expansion area.

According to the plan, 463 square kilometers in Jiading district were included in the north-expansion area of the hub. Jiangqiao town in Jiading district was included in Hongqiao Central Business District.

Therefore, Jiading district has been bolstering its efforts to integrate into the construction of Hongqiao International Hub during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.

The district has set the goal of building itself into an innovative economic cluster, central business supporting area, and high-quality international community for Hongqiao International Hub.

In the future, Jiading district will focus on building three benchmark projects, including a district, a city, and a bay.

A district refers to the project of rebuilding villages in cities, which is in the north Hongqiao area. The 182.67-hectare first phase of the project will be built into a 55-hectare high-end international community, 114 hectares of office properties, and a 17-hectare complex commercial center.

A city refers to a science and technology town that is under joint construction by Jiading district and Lingang Group. The first phase of this sci-tech town covers an area of 5.2 hectares, featuring scientific and technological research and development functions, as well as involving the life sciences, health, and smart manufacturing sectors.

A bay refers to Hongqiao Innovation Wisdom Headquarters Bay, which is designed to attract investment. Covering an area of 18.67 hectares, six projects in the bay are under construction.
