As the temperature rises, the blooming season of various Chinese roses in Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden has begun, bringing splashes of color to the garden.

The Chinese rose is regarded as the "Queen of Flowers" because of its graceful appearance, sweet fragrance, and rich color, as well as its long flowering period. Rose cultivation in the country dates back around 2,000 years.

It blooms from mid-to-late April to early December, with May and October being the best months to enjoy the flowers.

Chinese roses are mainly distributed from the Chinese Rose Garden, the Hanging Rose Garden, and the Rose Flower Wall at the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, which occupies a total area of roughly 36,000 square meters and boasts over 1,000 rose varieties.

The Chinese Rose Garden is located near Gate I in the south core area of the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden. It is one of the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden's most important professional plant exhibition gardens, as well as a specialty garden with the biggest collection of rose resources in East China.

At Gate II, the Hanging Rose Garden is situated around the exhibition greenhouse. With simple lines, neat European-style planting ponds, colorful variety display areas, and vivid large gardens, the entire garden produces a lively mood and an impressive demeanor.

At the foot of Chenshan Mountain is the Rose Flower Wall (between the Mine Garden Station and the Rock and Medicinal Botanical Garden Station). The 1,500-meter-long flower wall, which is made up of blooming Chinese roses, is a popular photo spot.

The Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden is the largest botanical garden in East China, covering 207 hectares in the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort in Shanghai's Songjiang district.
