Some 850 Shanxi specialties were on display in Warsaw, Poland on Sept 15, as the Northern Chinese province continued its "Shanxi Brands Silk Road Tour".
Thirty-three Shanxi companies took part in the exhibition at the Warsaw International Expo Center, showing off a variety of products, from industrial equipment and communication facilities to farm produce and green technology.
In addition, folk music and noodle-making performances were given to introduce visitors to Shanxi's rich culture.
The colorful booth drew a large crowd of prospective European partners, with some of the attendees attracting almost 20 foreign dealers within two hours.
"The exhibition is a significant step for Shanxi to develop the central and eastern European market. The exhibitors will help present Shanxi's economic potential and stimulate foreign trade with Poland and other countries nearby," said Wang Laiping, vice-director of Shanxi department of commerce.
Warsaw was the second stop on 2016 "Shanxi Brands Silk Road Tour", which aims to promote Shanxi products and culture as well as facilitating cooperation between Shanxi and countries along the Silk Road.
As the province's second largest trade partner and largest export market in central and Eastern Europe, Poland is a key partner for Shanxi in its efforts to boost ties along the Silk Road Economic Belt.
Shanxi is hoping to cement its partnership with Poland and push through further trade and economic cooperation through the event.
