A gong and drum show was staged at Taiyuan University of Technology on June 15, with seven gong and drum troupes giving performances.
The show marked the beginning of a series of mass cultural events taking place in Shanxi to mark the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up.
Sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, Shanxi Culture Department and Shanxi Federation of Trade Unions, the series of mass cultural events will involve more than 2,900 events over the next four months.
