Yangcheng county in Jincheng city held a tourism promotion meeting in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, July 11.
The event, sponsored by Yangcheng Tourism Development Commission and aimed to promote Yangcheng county’s tourist resources, informed more Taiyuan residents about Yangcheng and encouraged them to visit the county.
"The promotion meeting will further communications, resource sharing and collaboration between Taiyuan and Yangcheng county in tourism," said Lu Guoqing, deputy director of Taiyuan Tourism Development Commission.
Major historical sites and natural scenic spots in Yangcheng county, such as the House of the Huangcheng Chancellor and Manghe River, were promoted at the event.

Guo Xiangyang, a top Yangcheng county government official, said that the local government has been focusing on developing tourism featuring unique local history, the landscape and related tourism festivals. The county will continue to further support the local tourism industry and enact more preferential policies to attract visitors.
Representatives of more than 50 travel agencies in Taiyuan and some 50 journalists attended the meeting. Yangcheng Tourism Development Commission and several local tourist attractions signed partnership agreements with Taiyuan travel agencies at the event.
Yangcheng county, a birthplace of Yellow River civilization, features castle-style residential complexes and various landforms.
There are more than 633 residential complexes in the county, which is six times the national average at county level. The Manghe River scenic area is famous for macaque monkeys and subtropical vegetation, and Xicheng Mountain scenic area is known for its subalpine meadows and karst closed depressions which are typical of the county’s unique landscape.
