Dayu village was built around Mount Zhongyin, known as the birthplace of agriculture civilization in the reign of Emperor Yao. The village has a history of over 700 years. The local lifestyle, which dates back to the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), as well as traditional production modes, are still practiced in the village.
The villagers’ houses are built on the hill slopes, creating a unique landscape. Because of the uneven terrain, someone’s floor might be at the same level as another’s roof. They are solidly built of yellow mud and large stones, and comfortable all year long, neither too cold nor too hot.
Grape planting is a tradition in Dayu village and local people have been growing grapes for hundreds of years. The culture of grape cultivation has become important for locals. From Mount Zhongyin the tiers upon tiers of grape tents are visible, and Dayu village is the only place in China where grapes grow on horizontal pergolas, with 37 sorts of grapes altogether.
In the fall, when grapes are ripe, tourists can rest under the pergolas and sample grapes within arms’ reach

Tourists can exit from Qingxukou station on the highway, and then go left on a country road for about three kilometers. Tourists can also drive along No 307 national highway, or Zhanbei Road and Yugu Road to go there.
