Automobile Cultural Festival to debut in Datong
The China (Datong) International Automobile Culture Festival, jointly hosted by the Datong municipal government of Shanxi province and the China National Automotive Industry International Corp (CNAICO), will be held in Datong on August 23, 2012.
The event will last for four days. A super luxury automobile fleet will make their debut in China. Meanwhile, a series of automobile culture activities will run through the event, and activities, including a passenger automobile show, vehicle parade, automobile model competition, automobile industry forum, automobile photography contest, and exhibition on the development of Chinese automobile industry will be presented. The automobile culture meeting and news collecting by media at different levels will bring the whole event to a climax.
Geng Yanbo, mayor of Datong, stated that Datong, as the second largest city in the Shanxi province, takes special advantage in location as a transport and logistic hub in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-Inner Mongolia region. He added that Datong’s transport condition is ever improving. With rapid development and utilization of such energy resources like coal, electric power and non-ferrous metal in the city and the surrounding areas, the automobile culture festival will help promote demand in the automobile market.
Ji Xuecheng, president of CNAICO, said that CNAICO is an exhibition company with the most self-owned brands, strongest strength, most extensive market, the largest scale and most influential exhibitions in China and Asia at large. Ji said that the exhibitions that CNAICO organizes each year cover up to more than two million square meters in area in over a dozen countries. This includes world class exhibition brands like the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition which ranks among the world’s top five and the Shanghai International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts, Equipment and Service which ranks as No 1 in Asia and No 2 in the global market.
Ji said the reason why they chose Datong to be the venue for the festival is that Datong is a famous historical city and the destination for leisure and travel. Also, there is a great deal of potential in the city due to its economic base and market brought by the city’s transformation.
