1. Project Introduction

Tai'an national High-tech Industrial Development Zone was founded in 1994, approved by the state council and upgraded as national high-tech development zone in 2012. The medical equipment industrial park relies on high-tech industry, is aimed to be a national production basement of intelligent home-use medical equipment and medical materials.

2. Project Content and the Scale of Construction

With a planned area of 1 square kilometers, the project focuses on the construction of accessory industrial parks for medical imaging equipment, health equipment, plastic materials and optical radiation instruments.

The medical equipment park will focus on the introduction of medical imaging equipment, mobile health equipment manufacturing, plastic medicine material, medical appliance manufacturing, optical radiation instruments such as high-end medical equipment manufacturing project.

3.Project Conditions

China-South Korea Free Trade Agreement (FTA) boosts the bilateral cooperation, with South Korea's advantage of the medical device field, including medical imaging equipment and mobile health equipment, Tai'an is to lead the frontline of medical equipment in cooperation with South Korea.

In the current stage, South Korea highly depends on imported large medical devices both for cosmetic surgery and medical instruments, including artificial crystal, dental and other medical equipment.

China has high demand for high-end medical equipment, including optical radiation instrument, ultrasonic diagnostic instrument and X-ray application equipment. The project is to build a advanced medical devices industry base in China, with solid industrial base and promising market.

With current planning, the total Investment of the project is 1.5 billion yuan ($217.40 million).

5. Market Analysis and Economic effectiveness Forecast

With improving living conditions in China, residents' attention to health also increase accordingly, with higher consumption proportion of domestic health care year by year. China's medical equipment industry also embraces rapid development in recent years.

Current consumption ratio of medicine and medical equipment in China stands 1: 0.19,with large gap between the global standard level of 1: 0.7. China will reach the peak as a society with increasing aging population in the next 20 years, so the market of medical equipment is extremely promising.

Driven by the development of modern logistics and Internet Plus technology, sales channels will continue to expand and Internet enterprises will strengthen cooperation with medical fields, to bring new opportunities for development.
