Sandra Bullock doesn't like expensive presents.

The 'Proposal' actress - who is married to motorbike enthusiast Jesse James - isn't impressed by extravagant gifts and would rather receive something heartfelt like a handwritten letter.

She said: "I am lucky in that I don't expect much and I am always so pleased by just the smallest gesture. I am a notes and letters gal. I would much rather have someone write me something than buy something for me. I like the intentions rather than the gifts, so if someone writes me something or does something like that then I am very overwhelmed by that romance."

Sandra also revealed she is trying to be less structured in her life and become more spontaneous.

She said: "I'm the queen of planning and scheduling and I'm trying very hard to stop it. I just want to finish what I'm doing and go home. I want to have a weekend. I want to have breakfast, a stack of pancakes. I don't want to not enjoy where I am at this very moment."
