The sixth Kunming Animation Festival, a part of the Yunnan Cultural Industries Expo, will open in the No 1 hall at the Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center from Aug 9 to 14.

The festival offers numerous activities, including a fair of animation enterprises and derivative products, a cosplay costume competition, an eSports competition, a street dance challenge, an animation music competition, a creative market, a cartoon book fair, a cartoon animation competition, a qualification trial for the speaker of Yunnan cosplay, a popular cosplayer signing promotion, a cosplay tour show, a summit forum on Yunnan animation development exchange, an animation board game match and animation shows.

Hundreds of animation and derivative product companies are expected to participate in the festival. The cosplay costume competition has attracted more than 200 clubs or individuals and over 8,300 cosplayers in Yunnan. Dozens of computer game providers are going to join in the eSports competition, and tens of thousands of people are anticipated to come. The street dance competition will supposedly be the largest one in the province.

The animation festival will combine animation culture with a competitive spirit, providing animation fans with a platform to compete and exchange. It hopes to be the most influential animation meeting in Yunnan.
