which sang by the Chinese singer Zhengjun. This song was the champion of the
national radio records lasting 5 weeks.
It was the first time for most of
people to enjoy and sing the music of Va ethnic. And the style of Va's music

The folk music of Va ethnic usually use 'La Do Re & So Do Re' as the
main melody. And the mainly form of singing is the solo or chorus. It's also
going with the dancing and accompaniment of the percussion instrument at
celebration. The common instrument of Va ethnic are wooden drum, bronze drum and
reed-peep wind instrument. The typical dancing is the hair dance which full of
passion. All the elements of Va ethnic will be presented in the musical
film.

A musical film by Yu Jiangying
Yu Jiangying,
as one of the ten female director of Yunnan New Film Project, will go to Lincang
in November for finding the musical elements in the film.
Yu Jiangying
graduated from the China Conservatorium and is currently considered among the
most talented of China's young composers. Yu's creation included many domains
such as music, play and novel. She loved Yunnan's music very much. From 2002-03
Yu led a team in Yunnan collecting folk-music recordings of the provinces
various minority peoples, later collaborating in the production of two audio
disks-Songs on Tea Horse Road and Lanping.
Yu Jiangying said that she liked
to live in the mountainous area. And her favorite films are Pairs Texas, Kings
of the Road which directed by Wim Wenders and the Crazy Stranger which directed
by Tony Gatlif. Yu, proposed the 'non-language', is the language of music, is
also the language of light and shade, is the moral language which unable to say.
She is looking forward to shooting a film which full of songs and
emotions.
This is the first time for Yu to travel to Lincang, she had a
few acknowledge of Va's music in the past, so she extremely yearns for going
there.
