Ahuja to rejoin Tesla as CFO on Jason Wheeler's exit

Jason Wheeler, chief financial officer, Tesla, is leaving the company. Elon Musk, CEO, announced Wheeler's exit during the company's fourth-quarter earnings call on Feb 22. Deepak Ahuja, who served as CFO prior to Wheeler taking over, will return to Tesla as CFO. Wheeler will leave Tesla at the end of April. Wheeler said he is stepping down to pursue public policy projects. Tesla named Wheeler as CFO in November 2015. Wheeler spent 13 years at Google as its vice-president of finance before going to Tesla. Ahuja served as Tesla's CFO from August 2008 to November 2015.

Leaving Krikorian may return to Uber in California

Raffi Krikorian, senior director for engineering at Uber Technologies Inc, is quitting his current job, but might return to the ride-hailing company in a different position after relocating to California. Currently, he is with the company's Pittsburgh Advanced Technology Group, which is responsible for Uber's self-driving car experiments. Krikorian becomes the fourth executive to leave the company after its acquisition of self-driving truck startup Otto.

Grey to step down as chief of Paramount Pictures

Brad Grey will step down as the chairman and CEO of Viacom Inc's Paramount Pictures film studio, the company said on Feb 22. Viacom is starting a search to identify a successor, and Grey, who headed Paramount Pictures for 12 years, will remain at the studio for a period to support the transition. Grey's departure from the studio comes after years of underperformance, producing box office bombs such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and Ben-Hur. The change in leadership follows a year of distractions for the studio as it was at the center of a bruising power struggle between Viacom's controlling shareholder, Sumner Redstone, and his daughter, Shari, and Viacom's former chief executive, Philippe Dauman.

Doug Betts named senior vice-president of JD Power

Doug Betts, a veteran automotive and technology executive, has been named senior vice-president of global automotive operations at JD Power, a leading provider of consumer insights, data and analytics. Betts joins JD Power from Apple Inc, where he helped lead the introduction of Apple's latest product innovations. Prior to Apple, Betts held senior executive roles in FCA-Chrysler Automobiles, Nissan Motor Corp and Toyota Motor.

Ferreira's term as miner Vale's CEO ends May 26

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil-based miner Vale SA, the world's No 1 iron producer, said Murilo Ferreira will step down as CEO when his term expires on May 26. In a securities filing, Vale did not name a potential replacement for Ferreira or provide details as to how a transition will occur. Some of Vale's controlling shareholders lean towards picking one of Ferreira's lieutenants to spearhead the company's transition to dispersed share ownership, the people said. External candidates with previous experience at Vale are also under consideration.
