Comment on "Currency moves may imperil textile firms" (China Daily Website, July 13)
China should plan for the day when it will lose its textile and garment manufacturing business. No point complaining later when you have the advantage of knowing this inevitability now.
Indeed it is ironic that China is running out of cheap labor when such a large number of its workers are engaged in this sunset sector.
Better to plan for retraining and redeployment to more profitable sectors.
