Comment on "Trying not to get swept up with too much cleaning" (China Daily, Sep 14)
When two people who have jobs share a home there is much work to be done. The food must be cooked, the dishes must be washed, their clothes must be washed and ironed, the stove and the fridge and the bath and the toilet must be cleaned, the floor must be swept and the rooms must be kept tidy. If the couple put away things immediately after use and fix the beds on waking, the other work can be done quickly if the work is shared together or is done by each person on alternate weeks. They will be proud of their accomplishment to live in a tidy home and will have greater motivation. Then if they would rather have a cat than a child, their happiness will be increased.
