I think a smack on the back side isn't a bad thing if all else fails. But I don't agree to the face at all that doesn't help.
I got the belt when I was 14 for nicking out of a shop. Bent over and half a dozen whacks later, I decided I wouldn’t be nicking a bottle of Brylcreeme ever again.
