One of the things that impressed my wife about me in our early days was the way I would help people, particularly those struggling with bags or push-chairs on escalators or just letting people exit a lift before I tried to enter. But having read about so many scam cases in the press I'd be wary in this kind of case even to the extent of having photographic evidence of what I was doing.

What surprised you the most in China?	Should Chinese care about "face"?	Laowai, is the term offensive?
