I am shocked by the natural disaster that hit Yunnan province and claimed hundreds of lives. But China has encountered far worse natural calamities and come out as new as before. This time will be no different. China will turn the disaster into a reaffirmation for rebuilding life anew.
I send my deepest condolences to the victims' relatives and friends, and thank the rescue workers for their dedication and selfless service.
