Where is Shanglin?
You will find the area in Guangxi province where the Tropic of Cancer runs through on the map. Also Dragon Hill of Daming Mountain and my hometown - Xiyan Town - can be seen. Compared to Shenzhen, it’s more like heaven on earth. Skyscrapers in the metropolis make me feel dizzy, while scenery in Shanglin can cure the uneasiness. With less than 500,000 population, it is a good place to lead to a comfortable life especially for the elderly. It’s about a two-hour drive to Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and six hours from Guilin(Blog by Robert USA).

Xiyan: My hometown
Xiyan Town is in the center of Shanglin county and when back home, I used to climb to the roof of my house, watch the mountain in the distance and get lost in daydreams until my mom's call for dinner. At night, I would go upstairs again to enjoy the splendid view of the stars and moon. I love to go for a ride in Shanglin with my dad as my driver and see the food feast growing in this land.

Duhegong Festival of Zhuang ethnic minority
Duhegong Festival falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It’s said the festival has been marked for 400 years, since the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). People hold celebrations to seek blessings from the god Duhegong and ancestors.
