 Withered lotus in the Kunming Lake of Summer Palace. The Su Causeway was built for water conservancy, while the West Causeway was an integral part of the design of the garden—it’s more about scenic view. If the architecture of the Tower of Buddhist Incense on Longevity Hill, north of Kunming Lake, represents the magnificence of royalty, then the West Causeway is the flavor of the common people. Today, there are still 19 willows standing on the gorgeous West Causeway. |
