On May 6, 2014, the 2014 Intellectual Property Joint Conference was held in Shanghai. More than 120 participants attended the conference, including member units and non-voting units of Shanghai Intellectual Property Joint Conference, member units of the Activity Organizing Committee of Shanghai Intellectual Property Publicity Week, leaders in charge of intellectual property of district and county governments, principals of the Intellectual Property Joint Conference of districts and counties, as well as leaders of the Management Committee of Free Trade Zone.
Zhao Wen, vice mayor of Shanghai and the first convener of Shanghai Intellectual Property Joint Conference, attended the conference and gave a speech.
She requested the member units of Shanghai Intellectual Property Joint Conference and districts and counties to have definite goals, and to comprehensively improve the level of intellectual property creation, application, protection and management, and accelerate urban construction of the city’s Asia-Pacific region intellectual property center; focus on the key jobs, promote intellectual property administrative management and law enforcement systems to reform and innovate Pudong New District and Shanghai’s Pilot Free Trade Zone, and drive the establishment of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, strengthen the application and protection of intellectual property conversion, accelerate the development of the intellectual property service industry, and cultivate and attract high-end intellectual property talents; make overall plans, coordinate, and comprehensively implement essential strategies for intellectual property, in order to protect the innovation-driven development of Shanghai.
LU Guoqiang, secretary general of Shanghai Intellectual Property Joint Conference and director general of Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, made a work report, and summarized the work from member units of the Intellectual Property Joint Conference in 2013 in the aspects of increasing intellectual property quality, promoting the implementation of essential strategies of intellectual property, innovating the intellectual property application mode, boosting intellectual property conversion, improving management and service capacity, and optimizing the intellectual property protection environment. He also proposed working ideas and priorities for the joint conference in 2014.
