II. Unforgettable Memory--Shandong base area’s resisting Japanese aggression

After The July 7th Incident, Japanese army went southward, and was near Shandong in December, 1937. At that moment, Han Fuju, who was the president of Shandong province under the Kuomintang’s control escaped without resistance? Under this circumstance, China’s Communist Party members formed armed force to fight against the Japanese army, and constructed more and more base areas of resisting Japanese aggression in Shandong.
Thinking that there was no regular troup which belonged to the China Communist Party, the then party committee secretary of Shandong province Li Yu went to Yan’an to put forward his suggestion of sending a regiment of regular troup to Shandong to Chairman Mao. After thinking carefully, Chairman Mao told Li Yu, “We will send regular groups to Shandong, and the number is more than you can imagine.” In 1938, General Luo Ronghuan came to Shandong with the 115 Division.
On 22, August, 2014, journalist of dzwww.com met with Luo Dongjin, who is the son of General Luo Ronghuan, and vice political commissar of PLA Second Artillery Forces. He told the fighting scenes of the 115 Division against Japanese army.
After coming to Shandong, the main force of the 115 Division constructed many anti-japanese base areas in south and west Shandong, and connected with the base areas in middle China, west Hunan, middle and southeast Shandong, which brought a new situation in Shandong. Till the end of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, there was a regular troup of 270 thousand soldiers, a local troup of 500 thousand soldiers, and a self-defence group of 1.5 million people.
In Shandong battlefield, General Luo Ronghuan created many a wonders, in which the first used Flanging tactics is the most popular. As Luo Dongjin recalled, under the circumstances of avoiding Japanese army’s “sweeps” and being surrounded by enemies, General Luo Ronghuan led the troups to the back field of the enemy, and got out of the surrounding without using a bullet.
