The patentee shall pay an annual fee beginning with the year in which the patent right was granted. If the annual fee is not paid as prescribed, the patent right shall cease automatically.

Under such circumstances, the invention shall not be covered in the scope of protection by Patent Law and shall be free to everybody for use.
