The theme forums of "Building a Digital Economy New Highland" and the awards ceremony of the "JointForce" Programmers' Contest were held in Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone on Oct 25, marking the end of the 2nd Global Programmers' Festival.

Yang Xueshan, former vice-minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, gave a detailed speech on the integration of related technologies and concepts for enterprise digital transformation.

Yang pointed out that digital transformation is an inevitable trend of economic and social development and that entrepreneurs should stand at its forefront, take the initiative, and constantly seek new developments.

China's digital economy ranks second in the world, and the software industry continues to develop rapidly. The digital economy has become the core driving force for economic growth in recent years.

Chen Yuhong, board chairman and CEO of Chinasoft International, said that a new era of "software definition" is coming, with AI becoming the "accelerator" of the digital economy and a huge market space in the software industry filled with opportunities.

Masako Wakamiya, the world's oldest programmer and iOS developer, stated she hopes more programmers will pay attention to the elderly in the future and develop product tools that help solve practical problems faced by the aging, thereby reducing the burden on young people.

After the forum, this year's programmers' festival entered the final stage, an awards ceremony from the "JointForce" Programmers' Contest.

In the Industry Big Data Innovative Application Competition, a total of 14 winners were selected, while the Children's Fun Creative Programming Contest selected 15 winners. Across both competitions, the youngest winner was just?five years old and the oldest was 83.
