Beijing E-Town innovation and entrepreneurship competition ends successfully

On Sept 21, the finals of the Beijing E-Town 2nd innovation and entrepreneurship competition were held in the E-Town International roadshow center. Beijing Nuokangda Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd, Beijing Foreland Pharm Biological Technology Co., Ltd, a motion controller from Inexbot, and VR technology from Alfa took home prizes.
From the beginning of this competition in June 679 electronic and bio-medical projects competed, but only 92 made it through to the finals.
Beijing Nuokangda Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd, with its innovative medical instruments of intelligent polymer materials, won the grand prize.
Ophthalmologic operations are very common, but they are difficult surgeries requiring great accuracy. According to data from WHO, more than 285 million people in the world suffer from eye diseases, 39 million people are blind, and 246 million are amblyopic. Cataract, corneal defect and Lasik surgeries all use surgical sutures. Surgical sutures require a high skill and can cause post-operative tissue trauma. Their stitching and removal can cause infection, pain and discomfort, so that an eye sealant is needed in ophthalmologic operations to allow healing. The intelligent polymer material from Beijing Nuokangda Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd is the first eye sealant on the market in China.
Beijing D Lin Technology Co., Ltd is a high-tech company working on firefighting products and skills using new modernized products based on the Internet of things. The company won honorable mention in the competition.
D Lin does research and development, and designs, produces, sells and services intelligent systems for fire evacuation and people's positions tracking. It also provides intelligent firefighting management service systems, harmful gas detection, tunnel escape systems, independent smoke detection devices, independent firefighting devices, polymer firefighting gel, and handheld fire extinguishers. Many of its products attracted investors after the competition.
D Lin's Internet of things firefighting systems are in use in many buildings. Intelligent firefighting uses the Internet, the Internet of things, a cloud service and big data to connect fire alarms and auto firefighting systems, together with electrical fire protection and audio and video security. It also provides for intelligent emergency evacuation, ventilation and exhaust, water sprinkler systems, and people position tracking, all supported by a data center that analyzes and integrates information. In addition, D Lin’s intelligent firefighting provides information to support local fire departments.
The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area is implementing a "six-in-one" strategy which involves building five innovative centers.
A week of mass entrepreneurship and innovation will be held from Oct 12 to 18. E-Town division and Haidian division will be the main venues in Beijing.
