JD expands in cloud computing market

JD Cloud, the cloud unit of the country's second-largest e-commerce site JD, will accelerate steps to expand its presence in the burgeoning cloud computing market.
Samuel Shen, the president of JD Cloud, said: "China's cloud computing market has entered an in-depth development phase, and JD cloud, as a new force in the industry, shoulders the mission of a flourishing cloud ecosystem and leading the new trend of cloud computing."

After two years of practice, JD Cloud has accumulated rich technological experience, owning its own technology strength. Meanwhile, JD's comprehensive layout in artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing provides strong assistance for the growth of JD Cloud.
Samuel Shen, a Microsoft veteran of 24 years and the former general manager of its cloud and enterprise business in China, took the job as the president of JD's cloud unit last year.
At present, foreign companies such as Microsoft Corp and Amazon.com Inc provide services in China through joint ventures with local partners.
