The "Liangjiang Forum", part of Liangjiang New Area’s administrative committee, hosted a legal knowledge lecture entitled “Intellectual Property Rights: the Core Competitiveness of Enterprise” on June 27. Committee members, company representatives and workers attended.

Yang Lixia, the vice president of the Intellectual Property Court of Liangjiang New Area, gave the lecture, which used actual trials as examples of his lessons on legal protections and intellectual property rights.

For example, the plaintiff SAIC-Iveco Hongyan Commercial Vehicle Co.，Ltd. challenged the defendant Chengdu Wenjiang Rongsheng Machinery Co.，Ltd. on its technical service contract.

During the trial, both parties were engaged in fierce debate on whether the plaintiff should provide technical services for the defendant, what the defendant should charged for the cost of these, and other legal problems.

After summarizing the trail, Yang Lixua explained the profound theories in simple language. He discussed “the protection of intellectual property rights in enterprise mergers and acquisition” and “how to protect the commercial secrets of enterprises”.

These are major concerns, and both government departments and enterprises came away with a clearer understanding on how to strengthen the daily protection of intellectual property rights and deal with intellectual property disputes.
