D3: Lhasa-->Tashi Island (About 233km): Driving through the northern plateau of Chang Tang is stunning. The grassland extends boundlessly until Mount Nyenchen Tanglha (7117m above sea level). Go to Tashi Island, a holy place in the southeastern corner of Lake Namsto. Here, you can swim in the hot spring swimming pool, where the water is believed to cure many skin diseases. Come back to Lhasa and stay overnight in the Hongqiao Hotel.
D4: Drive 110km to Yamdrok Lake-one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery. Then visit the Samding Monastery close to the lake. Also visiting a Tibetan family can be arranged along this way, overnight in the Nangaze Guesthouse near the lake.
D5: Get up early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful lake at dawn. Then drive 130km to Gyantse. Visit the Kumbuk Monastery and Zongshan Relics. then drive about 90km to Shigaze-the second largest city in Tibet, in the afternoon.
D6: Visit Tashilunpo Monastery - one of the oldest and largest Gelupa monasteries in Tibet, the seat of Banchen Lama. After that, drive back to Lhasa along the Lhasa River. A farewell dinner can be arranged at the Typical Tibetan Restaurant where you can enjoy local food with a Tibetan dance and song show.
D7: Go to the airport and fly out.
