Zhang Caiming and his 14 family members live in a 20-square-meter dangerous house in Yuao village, Cangshan county, East China's Zhejiang province. Zhang visited the local governor several times to apply for building permits, which the governor rejected him for different reasons.

Sections of the walls in the 30-year-old building have collapsed and the structure has become a dilapidated house after it was hit by violent typhoon in 2006. Steel and red bricks can be seen clearly in the house and destruction appears on the third floor of the building.

Housing market grows rapidly in Baoding

Trending across China

The housing market is growing rapidly in Baoding, a city in Beijing's neighboring Hebei province. One property company sold 120 houses on March 19, Beijing Youth Daily reported on March 23.

Although Hebei province denied a rumor on Wednesday that Baoding is the first choice to be the deputy political center after Beijing, they acknowledged that the National Development and Reform Commission, the nation's top economic planning agency, is drafting a plan to coordinate the development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.

Thus, many investors and house buyers are still enthusiastic and insist that housing prices in Baoding will soar in the future.
