A woman's 7 day Spring Festival journey home

In the world's biggest annual migration of people, Chinese are crossing the nation in order to get home in time for Spring Festival. With more than 2.8 billion people traveling by train during this travel rush, some are bound to face difficulties getting home. The experience of the woman in our story tells us just how hard it is to get home for the new year.

Wang Changcheng spends seven days, or nearly 80 hours on a train, in order to get from her workplace in Aksu, Northwest China's Xinjiang autonomous region to her home in a county in Qianjiang, Southwest China's Chongqing province, Chongqing Morning Post reported.

Wang and her boyfriend set off at 21:35 pm on Feb 3 from Aksu and arrived at Baoji, Northwest China's Shaanxi province on the afternoon of Feb 5. They transferred to a train to Shaanxi's capital Xi'an and stayed a night there because there were no tickets available.

They boarded a train to Wang's boyfriend's home in Dangyang, Central China's Hubei province next morning on Feb 6 and arrived 12 hours later. After spending two days in Dangyang, Wang alone got on a train to Chongqing on Feb 8 and transferred to another train to Qianjiang on Feb 10.

She will spend a night in Qianjiang to catch the bus next morning to her home on Feb 11.
